Welcome to the website of best-selling author Steven Pressfield, where the hottest news is that for his next novel Mr. Pressfield has bidden a temporary farewell to the ancient world and fast-forwarded into (almost) contemporary times. His new book is set in WWII, in the North African campaign. It's called Killing Rommel. The story is about a behind-the-lines raid conducted by two British special forces, the Long Range Desert Group and the SAS (Special Air Service). In other news, the paperback version of The Afghan Campaign is now on sale (June '07). So far it's outselling all prior Pressfield soft-covers; in fact tripling the sales of Gates of Fire. The cover, on the left, was originally slated for the hardback but was shelved when the major chain booksellers objected to it; they didn't think it said "historical novel" enough. Now it's back. Good ideas never die!
